Time with product: 10+ years
I didn’t realize I was getting into a long-term relationship when I bought a few Philips Hue bulbs for my bedroom over a decade ago.
All I wanted was a light I could dim from my phone, and a light that had more range than “really bright” and “off”.
The fact I could make them a pleasing pink was really just a bonus.
That was 2015, and now in 2025 I’m looking around my house and realizing I am fast approaching having 50 of these magical bulbs.
Last year I bought the Logi MX Master 3 and entered the exalted ranks of people who pay more than $20 for a mouse.
Tl;DR: It’s probably the best mouse I’ve ever used, but every now and then it scrolls on its own. I have one for my Windows PC and the Mac-specific model for use with my MacBook.
For years I was a staunch holdout against wireless devices, preferring the connectivity and power guarantees over the supposed “freedom” of wireless-ness.
2025 update: The robot is now 7 years old and we still use it every few days. It has held up fabulously with minimal maintenance and no serious problems. The model in this article has since been replaced by the “S7” model.
TL;DR: It’s a great vacuum and it’s still working hard for us 7 years after I originally wrote this post in 2019. It’s hands-off and easy to use, rarely needs maintenance, and the only annoyance we’ve experienced was when we moved the dock and had to re-map the house.
Hey! We are back after some lengthy summer travel to tell you about the awesome lightweight double stroller that hauled our toddler and baby through four packed airports, tons of city sights, a barely-paved walking trail, a sandy beach, countless restaurants and everything in between - the Joovy Caboose Ultralight Graphite (Amazon.com link).
Note: Like all products we review here on HomeUpgraded, our Joovy double is something we bought ourselves and have put through extensive use before writing about it.
Heads up: this article is from 2016, but a lot of people land on this site looking to turn their Bose speaker into something their TV can use for audio. I have not personally used this setup since about 2019, so take what you find here with a grain of salt as technology inevitably marches forward.
If you’ve bought a new TV recently you might have been horrified to find that modern TVs come with terrible built-in audio.
